Create sale return order with reference to initial order ignoring line items

Dear experts,

Is it possible that using BAPI ,I create a return sale order with reference to an existing sale order,where in i mention line items of my choice.Reason is return may be applicable on some selective items only.

One BAPI ,i got is bapi_customerreturn_create.But in this, i realise that i need to give each and every detail in internal tables which become equivalent

to creating a new sale order altogether.Here i need to fetch all details of relevant tables from existing sale order and then create entries for internal tables to be given as input.Same will apply to condition tables also and chances of inconsistency may be there in fetching details.

I need a BAPI which create return order in reference to existing sale order allowing me to modify existing line items details.
